On This Day

1) Today I turned the heat on for the first time this season. And for the first time in a week I wasn't cold and cranky. Just cranky, because I can fully visualize dollars flying out of the heating vents.

2) I ordered Christmas presents for my kids today. Waffle makers for everyone! Okay not really, but I am buying everyone monogramed towels. I can sense the excitement with that present already. I am really trying hard to get away from buying so many toys, because we already own most of the inventory at We Be Toys.

3) Rob sent me an email about his annual Christmas party, but the baby will still be nursing. Maybe next year. And maybe by next year I'll be able to find a babysitter.

4) I think I may be mildewing from all the rain.

I hear you about the heat. I had it on last week and only turned it on because baby Myles was cold.

I hear you about the toys. I was just wondering what to get the little boys that I couldn't go find in the basement.

I hear you about the nursing TOO!!! I am beginning to wonder if he will ever want to stop. I can't even get him to take an occasional cup of juice!!

I love your blog!

Well, at next year's office party, you can go all out. And by "go all out" I mean "drink so much that you end up dancing on a table with a lampshade on your head."

On Monday, the forecast had a big ol' smiley sun for today. Today arrived with more drizzling and with the darkness and the no sun, Oy.

damn heat. We got our budget for oil yesterday.

Damn damn damn. I hope we can take hot showers this year as we wont be able to afford the damn oil. Our bill went up over 50% yikes!

Here in NC, my husband already turned on the heat, a week ago or more. Being pregnant, I switched it off and even turned the ac back on once or twice. We may have to cash in my 401k just to heat my 1,300 sf house if last year's bills and the dire predictions are any indication. It's just a good thing we moved south!

I know, I've refrained from turning the heat on-my whole family wakes up shaking from the cold. I live in Maine, so I think the heat will be going on real soon...like right now.

I refuse, I say I refuse! to turn on the heat in October! We will wear wool and socks and not take our clothes off (I don't do that, but my 20 month old does). I've used the space heater when I can no longer stand it.

FWIW, I have a monogrammed towel that someone gave to me when I went to college (with their colors) and I love it. I won't let my husband use it because I don't want his dirty parts of my pretty towel. LOL

Mine will be receiving individualized fleece blankets. I'm sure they will be underwhelmed. They will hopefully be able to huddle under them though, in our unheated home.

Hi Chris - I've been lurking for awhile and you make me laugh daily. Thank you!

I think we must be on the same page b/c I am buying my boys embroidered towels for Christmas too! LOL I only have 2 boys, 3.5 and 1, and already my home is on toy overload.

No heat on here yet - I refuse. I've already told my husband to plan on freezing our arses off this year. Today is day 7 of rain for us in NJ. Sucks. My large dog is so very annoyed.

I would gladly trade you my heat for your rain and cold:-) I'm so tired of being HOT and I'm not even pregnant!! They say we should be getting rain but I wish it would hurry up and get here already.
